Macat is an established company, with a 10-year history of significant financial and academic investment into critical thinking assessment and learning.
The company has worked in close collaboration with the University of Cambridge, the OECD, the London School of Economics, and others to develop a rigorous, tested and proven methodology that can be simply communicated and taught to people at all ages and stages of life.
Macat is the only global platform for critical thinking that maintains continual academic improvement and testing to make sure our programmes are always delivering the best outcomes and impact for learners, institutions and organisations.

Salah Khalil
Founder and Chief Product Officer
Salah Khalil is a social entrepreneur with a specific interest in education, employability, the future of work and the 21 st century skills. Alongside founding Macat, Salah is also the founder of The Alexandria Trust, a London-based charity dedicated to restoring world-class education in the Arab region. Born in Egypt he played an active role in Egyptian politics before working for the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and studying for a Masters in political sociology at the LSE. He lives in London and is married with four children.
Matt Robb
CEO
Matt is worked in Education and strategy for over 30 years at McKinsey & Co, EY Parthenon and Deloitte. He has hired, taught and developed critical thinking and creativity in teams he has built for over 25 years and has given guest lectures at Oxford Saïd. His in-depth interest in the development of critical thinking in both education and commercial environments makes him ideally placed to take Macat into the next phase of development.
